Skelligs Chocolate Factory
Skelligs Chocolate is Ireland’s only open-plan chocolate factory. Located on The Skelligs Ring Coast Road recently named in The Lonely Planet’s Top 10 Regions to visit in 2017, the Skelligs Chocolate Factory is right beside St. Finian’s Bay.
The Skellig Chocolate Factory overlooks the UNESCO World Heritage site Skellig Rocks which featured as the remote island home of Luke Sky Walker (played by Mark Hamill) in the latest Star Wars movies The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens.
Drop in visitors are always welcome at the Skelligs Chocolate Factory to observe the Award-Winning chocolates being made and taste and sample the hand made chocolates made right before your eyes. There is no actual organised tour” and no admission charge, however the open plan design of the factory allows tourists and visitors to the gift shop to observe and interact with the friendly and welcoming chocolatiers making Skelligs Handmade Chocolates on the other side of the counter.

From Easter to September their Puffin Café serves great tea, coffee and rich hot chocolate drinks, freshly baked scones, cakes and desserts. Please note – ‘The Puffin Café’ does not serve lunch type food – This is strictly a “coffee and treats” only cafe. For a full lunch, we recommend The Moorings Seafood Restaurant in nearby Portmagee.
The Skelligs Chocolate Factory and Shop is open from Easter to mid September each year.
Parents of young children may also like to know that there is a children’s playground in the Glen village just a few hundred meters from the Chocolate Factory.
The Skelligs Chocolate Factory is just 10 minutes off the main Ring of Kerry road, approximately one hour from Killarney or Tralee and just a 15 minute spectacular Skellig-View Coastal Drive from Portmagee.
You can also purchase Skelligs Chocolates online from their online chocolate shop.

The best Candy!
My daughters & I were in the Chocolate Factory a couple of weeks ago, the driver we hired to drive us around the Ring of Kerry took us there. I am so glad he did because we tasted the candy & of course we had to buy some too. I bought the Irish Whiskey Creme Dark Chocolate Truffles & this was the candy I have ever tasted. I am online with you now because I have to order some more.
